Abstract
Visual supports help children and youth with autism, Asperger Syndrome and other special needs understand their world better and therefore help them function more independently. This resource goes beyond the familiar use of visual supports as schedules with children with disabilities to include information sharers, checklists/organizers, and visual behavior supports. Richly illustrated and user-friendly, the book provides parents with all the information they need to make effective visual supports specifically designed for their child using a variety of materials, many of them commonly found around the house. The book also takes into considersation that parents are usually stressed for time and therefore need effective solutions that don't require excessive time to prepare or implement.

Compassionately written by the expert psychologist who conducted some of the earliest examinations of chidren with FAS and FAE more than 20 years ago, this guidebook explains how to identify and work with children and adults who have the disorder and how to educate prospective mothers and society at large. Photographs, illustrations, and case studies reveal the physical and behavioral manifestations of FAS and FAE, particularly in children. For parents, educators, pediatricians, psychologists, adoption workers, social workers, nurses, and child care providers, this timely book speaks to everyone seeking an understanding of the challenges faced by children who have these entirely preventable disabilities.

Abstract
A clinical practice framework, the Hypotonia Wheel, was developed during an international project to support the development of intervention strategies for infants and young children with neuromotor disabilities in Guangzhou, China. This practice framework was developed to guide therapists' intervention choices to encourage the gross motor abilities of infants and children (0-3 years) exhibiting hypotonia and gross motor delays. The goal was to provide a practice framework that aligned with contemporary interest in activity-focused intervention approaches and that considered both a child's abilities and the influence of environmental context in the achievement of gross motor skills.
The Hypotonia Wheel and Guide may be useful for therapists, therapy students and early intervention providers who work with infants and young children with hypotonia. The process used to design the Hypotonia Wheel could be used as a template to develop intervention guidelines for other clinical conditions.
