Abstract
The author, whose own sons have Type I diabetes, begins with the shock of diagnosis and how to handle the basic day-to-day needs of a diabetic child. The author leads parents through grade school, junior high, high school (where hormone changes can affect blood sugar), and even college, where, she illustrates, a parent still may be called upon to deal with a diabetes-related situation. The book stresses the importance of always having food on hand, making teachers and friends aware of the child's condition, and continuing to be involved in the child's diabetes care as he or she grows up. Filled with personal stories this book is a must read, especially for parents dealing with a newly diagnosed child.

Abstract
Bulimia Nervosa is a serious illness with potentially life threatening complications. Coping with Bulimia Nervosa can be overwhelming for youth and their families. Youth with Bulimia Nervosa may appear to have no difficulty eating but may be hiding significant emotional distress and chaotic eating patterns, including periods of severe food restriction. These patterns can have serious physical and emotional effects that lead to bingeing and purging. Youth may feel very ashamed and embarrassed about this behaviour, which can push them to restrict even more, creating cycles of negative feelings and behaviours which can be very difficult to change. Structure and support from caregivers can reduce these negative feelings and make it easier for youth to manage their behaviour. In "Supporting Youth with Bulimia Nervosa: Helpful Approaches for Families" you will hear from parents and youth about strategies that they found helpful while recovering from Bulimia Nervosa.

Abstract
This revised and updated edition takes a fresh look at what it's like to grow up as the brother or sister of a child with autism--the basics of sibling relationships at all ages and how autism can affect these dynamics. Parents get important advice about balancing responsibilities for each child, encouraging their kids to share feelings, explaining autism to other children, and initiating play and interaction between siblings.
This new edition includes case examples reflecting improvements in applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques, new photos, an updated resource section, and tips on how technology can help siblings and their families connect with other families. Throughout the book, family case studies provide insights into how other families deal with common concerns and situations.
