Abstract
"Drawing on her own deeply personal experiences, Ania Bula explores what it is like to live with unseen chronic disabilities. She paints a vibrant picture of what it is like to be diagnosed with two life-long debilitating conditions as a young adult and relates the challenges and frustrations of dealing with predatory alternative medicine practitioners, arrogant doctors, indifferent bureaucracies, and well-meaning friends and family who always seem to say either the wrong thing-or nothing at all. As she discovered, suddenly everyone's aunt is a health expert and everyone's fad diet a cure. Making matters worse, her physical torment quickly translated into mental stresses. Relationships became strained, while others, including all-important romantic ones, never had a chance to start at all. Wading through a constant stream of ignorance and lies, in a desperate attempt to find peace, to stop the pain, and to return to a more normal life, she submits to being stuffed with powders and magic potions, poked and prodded, and even "faith healed." With honesty and humor, she shares her journey of pain, suffering, and, ultimately, coping, both to help others gain some understanding about what it is like to live with chronic illness-and to help those who might similarly suffer feel less alone, so that they too might start living again.
"Drawing on the author's personal experiences with her own physical and mental health struggles, the book explores what it is like to live with chronic disabilities as a young adult"-- Provided by publisher.

Abstract
"You DonÌt Look Sick chronicles one personÌs true-life story of illness and her physicians compassionate commentary as they journey through the four stages of chronic illnessÛGetting Sick, Being Sick, Grief and Acceptance and Living Well. The authors address such practical aspects as hiring a doctor, managing chronic pain, coping with grief and loss of function, winning battles with health and disability insurers, countering the social bias against the chronically ill, and recognizing the limitations of chronic illness care and charting a path for change and more. This warmhearted resource helps you focus on building a meaningful life as opposed to a life of frustration and fear. This book is thoroughly revised and updated based upon feedback from readers of the first edition. The authors have added a new section on Grief and Acceptance, address the passage of the Affordable Health Care Act and Dr. Overman has added practical travel tips that bring organization and focus to each phase of the journey. Designed for people at all stages of the chronic illness journey, this book is also illuminating for caregivers and loved ones"--from the Publisher

Dennis' life is boring and lonely. His mother left two years ago, his truck driver father is depressed, his brother is a bully and, worst of all, no hugging is one of their household rules. But one thing Dennis does have is soccer. He's the leading scorer on his team. Oh, and did we mention his secret passion for fashion?
When Dennis' friend Lisa discovers his stash of Vogue magazines, she convinces him to vamp it up and wear a dress to school. But in class, his hilarious hijinks as "Denise" are brought to a screeching halt when the headmaster discovers his secret and delivers the worst punishment of all -Dennis is expelled from school and therefore forbidden to play in the soccer Final Cup!
Can the team win the most important game of the year without their star player? And, more importantly, will Dennis gain the love and respect of his friends and family, even in a dress?

A young boy becomes fascinated with his mother's bindi, and asks her to explain what it is and why she wears it. She tells him that the red dot is commonly worn by Hindu women to indicate the point at which creation begins. Abstract
It is the rise from falling that Brown takes as her subject in Rising Strong. As a grounded theory researcher, Brown has listened as a range of people?from leaders in Fortune 500 companies and the military to artists, couples in long-term relationships, teachers, and parents?shared their stories of being brave, falling, and getting back up. She asked herself, What do these people with strong and loving relationships, leaders nurturing creativity, artists pushing innovation, and clergy walking with people through faith and mystery have in common? The answer was clear: They recognize the power of emotion and they?re not afraid to lean in to discomfort.

Abstract
As boys reach adolescence, everything changes: their bodies, their feelings, and their relationships. Their world turns shaky just when they find it hardest to talk with the adults in their lives. But even if they won’t say what’s on their mind, they still want straight answers. The Boy’s Body Book provides them, in a readable, reassuring, and illustrated guide. It covers a boy’s every concern: hygiene, exercise, teachers, peer pressure, sex, and siblings. He’ll learn about what’s going on physically (vocal changes, body hair) and how to handle academic pressures, deal with out-of-control feelings, make new friends, and stay safe through it all.

Abstract
After the death of his tough, guitar-playing, much-loved sister, Brian finds it increasingly difficult to care about anything. The only time Brian comes alive is in the few seconds it takes for the razor to slice through his skin. In "The Perfect Cut," Julie Burtinshaw has written an incredibly honest and perceptive novel about cutting, revealing why this dangerous practice has become an increasingly common form of stress relief among young adults. Told from the perspective of the grief-stricken Brian who, in his mind, has run out of options for coping, it's clear that while he makes some bad choices, he's not a bad person. The book ends on a grace note, reassuring young readers that even terrible obstacles can be overcome, and that where there's life, there is hope.

Abstract
This CD guides the listener to practice breath work along with autogenics, statements used repeatedly to induce a state of deep relaxation. Listeners are encouraged to remember a time and place in which they experienced strength and a strong centre(reframed as “inner healers”). The music of Pachabel’s Canon accompanies the guided imagery of a tree Autogenic phrases emphasize growing in confidence and strength “every day in every way”. The closing image is that of energy rising through the body-as sap through the trunk of a tree. This helps to create a full circle of relaxation.
