Abstract
This patient guide was created to meet the needs of both women with postpartum depression and the health care providers who treat these women and their families. It is divided into two main sections: 1)Information: to educate about the causes, presentation and different treatments of postpartum depression. 2) Action: to provide structured exercises to help women become active participants in their own treatment and recovery.
In easy to read language, the book explains who gets postpartum depression, why, how it can be treated, self-help practices, and resources. The guide gives health care providers information and activities which empower women to facilitate their own recovery.
