Le 14 décembre 2009, Vincent Godin s'enlevait la vie à l'âge de 16 ans. Son père, le peintre et illustrateur Eric Godin, en a perdu pendant longtemps le goût de vivre et de créer. Puis, un jour, encouragé par un ami, Zïlon, il a tenté de mettre, à défaut d'images, des mots sur le geste de son fils. Il en a résulté Lettre à Vincent, sorte de message qu'Eric a glissé dans une bouteille qu'il a ensuite jetée à la mer. Depuis, que ce soit sous la forme d'un essai interactif produit par l'ONF ou par le biais du Web, cette lettre a trouvé sur sa route d'autres naufragés tentés d'imiter Vincent ainsi que des parents survivants en quête d'un baume à l'âme. Un livre utile et précieux. Des mots simples, mais fabuleusement denses, percutants, sur des encres tantôt poignantes, tantôt apaisantes de Zïlon. Les mots germés dans le coeur d'un artiste menotté par la mort. La lettre d'un père à son fils suicidé.
