CancerChatCanada provides online support to people affected by cancer and is funded primarily through the Canadian Partnership against Cancer. The British Columbia Cancer Agency Psychosocial Oncology program houses the central office for CancerChatCanada.
CancerChatCanada offers professionally-facilitated online groups that meet once per week for up to 90 minutes in a live “chat” room on the Internet.
They currently have groups for family members or friends caring for someone with cancer, groups for young women survivors of breast cancer, and cancer patients in treatment or dealing with advanced disease.

This document reviews research in the area of young adults with developmental disabilities transitioning from high school into community and adult life. The transition planning process of various regions in the world will be explored which will include recommendations from the literature. Tools and approaches for supporting transition planning will be outlined and some outcome data will be provided. This document will outline various options for young adults with developmental disabilities in the areas of work, education, and community support. A specific Canadian and British Columbian perspective will be included in the later sections of the review. Finally, recommendations for practice and for areas for future consideration will also be highlighted.
