Abstract
This is an easy to read booklet that offers in-depth information for women struggling with Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) or a more severe form of PMS called Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD). Women gain information about how PMS or PMDD affects: their physical health (eg. cramps), emotional health (eg. irritatability), behaviors (e.g feeling overwhelmed), how it interferes in their daily lives and relationships. The booklet explores the various causes believed to magnify PMS symptoms and encourages the reader to evaluate their symptoms using a daily charting method. Women then begin to develp a plan unique to their needs while discovering how they can draw strength and wisdom from their menstrual experiences. Up to date information on self-care strategies such as nutrition, sleep, vitamins and supplements and exercise are offered as well as learning more about how a diagnosis is made and current options for life-style changes and medications.
